It’s bittersweet to see Shaun Alexander lose, and I don’t hate the Seahawks, but the Saints are my team and they were due a win. I’d like to add that with 4th and 3 in the fourth qtr Holmgren opted to try a run up the middle on a run that would’ve been successful if only he’d been running with Alexander. A comeback at that point was unlikely anyway, being down 18 points, but at least Shaun would’ve given them a chance. Too bad.
Geaux Saints!!
It’s about time, isn’t it?
YES! And they looked good doing it, which is a considerable thing considering the way they’ve looked in all their other games.
The Way Back Machine to 2006 rather than 2005. I’m glad they got that one off their back. I think the playoffs are a long shot (waaaaaaayyy out there but what’s the fun in giving up now?) but at least they can get some wins and a respectable record out of the deal. Play it out. That’s one thing I hate about baseball is when they throw in the towel if they don’t get off to a good start and trading for prospects. Can’t do it in the NFL. W’s could mean the difference in anyone’s job.
Exactly. And let’s face it, Saints fans will take what they can get. Last year’s success was great, but we’ve had a lot of bleak years, so I don’t think anybody’s going to jump ship because of a string of losses. If they turn it around and put together some wins it won’t be a total loss, and it’ll at least give us some hope for next year.
